A report commissioned by the ACIITC found that interRAI tools are the best candidates for use in the Australian aged care and community care industry.
UQ Researchers identified 15 potential comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) systems globally available and conducted a systematic review against a set of pre-determined criteria. Australian aged care providers participated in a focus group to provide input into the evaluation criteria against which each of the systems were evaluated.
Of the 15 potential systems the top two system identified as being candidates suitable for the Australian aged care industry were the interRAI HC and interRAI LTCF.
Professor Len Gray, Coordinator of interRAI Australia and an interRAI Fellow, said, “We are very pleased to see two of interRAI’s systems at the top of the list of comprehensive geriatric assessment systems for Australia. interRAI is deployed in 35 countries, so we know that it has all of the right capabilities to meet the requirements for the Australian government and industry”.
